Happy Holiday Matte Nails

This nail art originally started as a series of trying out matte nail polish. I thought that I wouldn't like it. Boy, was I wrong! Anyways, the polishes you will need are your base coat, top coat, a sparkle polish, red polish, brown polish and lastly, a matte top coat.
Begin by applying your favorite base coat to protect your natural nail. After that paint all your nails red except for what would be your accent toe. While that is drying apply your brown polish to your accent nail and allow that to dry. Apply your glitter to your red toe nails, I used a glitter polish that also had hexagon glitter. As you allow that to dry apply your matte top coat to your accent nails. This will literally dry in front of your eyes! Lastly, apply a fast dry top coat to the rest of your nails and you are done!
Enjoy these nails, I think they are very festive and can be worn elegantly for the holidays.

Chevron Harvest/Thanksgiving/Winter Nails

One of my practice nails that I believe to be a perfect idea for Harvest/Thanksgiving/Winter Time. Start of course with your favorite base coat to protect your natural nail. Then apply your base color, for this I used a shimmer blue. Then apply your chevron shape with either a white striper or nail art pen or you can create this effect by taping off with scotch tape or nail tape. Following that, apply your yellow above that line. After that has dried, apply your brown, yes that is brown it looks very black but it is in fact a deep brown, over the yellow going in the opposite direction. If you can fill in until the edge of the nail. While that is drying you can choose to apply a gold shimmer polish over your white adding some more glam. After the brown has fully dried apply your yellow dot.
Now after that has all dried apply your favorite top coat to seal in your design and you have a cute manicure for many occasions. If you recreate this look I would love to see your manicures! Fall Plumtastic!

Here is a great fall idea if you want some color instead of the same old same old. Whether it is on little fingers or an adults nails, I find this to be super cute and fun! Of course items needed would be a nail art pen, white acrylic paint, base coat, fast-dry top coat, glitter, a neon yellow, and since the main color used was purple I chose a plum nail polish for the thumbs.
Start off with your favorite base coat to protect your natural nail. After that is dried, paint all but the ring finger with your white acrylic paint and do two coats. I enjoy using acrylic paint for the white as it does make other colors more opaque quickly and drying time from each step is cut in half.
Next apply your glitter to the ring finger, this does take some patience, I decided on a simple flower like pattern. While that is setting up, paint your thumbs and pointer fingers with the colors of your choosing, I did a plum and neon yellow. While those are drying apply your glitter to the center of the nail on the pointer finger and continue to allow the nail polish to dry.
Following that grab that nail art pen, and I did sort of a twig style design and filled in the empty space with dots to really bring it to life. Now while that is drying it is time to apply a fast dry top coat to the thumbs, pointer and ring fingers. When the "twigs" have completely dried apply your fast drying top coat to seal in your design and you are done!
Fun right? The great thing about this design is that it easily flows from your fall into a winter style design while still keeping it fresh and bright! If you recreate feel free to tag on Facebook or link in the comments below. Would love to see those recreations! Have a wonderful day!

Fall-esque Matte Nails

Here is a fun matte fall idea. Start with your favorite base coat. Then go with a creamy color, the color I used was Wet'n'Wilds megalast Sugar Coat, on all your nails leaving your pinkies undone except for base coat. (I recommend three coats of this color as it is very see through, I only did two coats in the picture.) Next, if it makes it easier for you, tape off all the nails except for your pinkies, as you will do a full coat of brown on your pinkies. Make a nice crescent shape on the tips of your nails for a nice accent. Once those are dry apply a silver fleck nail polish on top of the brown if you wish, I did as it made it really stand out. Or you can just apply a clear top coat and then a matte top coat on the tips of your nails. On the pinky fingers I added a tear gem and applied my matte top coat on after that. Clean up any mess on your edges and you are done. Very simple and elegant and goes with just about anything you have that is fall-esque and will be perfect to wear around family for the upcoming holiday, Thanksgiving. Enjoy!

Frankenstein In Love Nails

Halloween is a time for scary ghouls and terrifying creatures, however, it is also a time for fun. Which is why I created my Frankenstein's in Love. Start with your favorite base coat to protect your natural nail. After that is completely dry, take a tooth pick or fine brush and paint zigzags on the tips of your nails. Then add highlights on one side of the points with a white or silver. Following that with a tooth pick, dotting tool or fine brush make hearts with a red nail polish. Then top with your favorite top coat to protect your design. I added a sparkly clear nail polish to make them stand out a little more. Happy Halloween!

Halloween Dots and Vines

With Halloween coming up I received this lovely idea for nails from Google random search for Halloween. Sometimes the creative juices need a jump start and well, this lovely wallpaper below, although I cannot find the creator, was an inspiration.
Granted little bats did not make it on to the toes, this is still a fun design for the upcoming holiday! If you try to recreate this please leave a comment or tag on Facebook. Have a Spooky Halloween!

Leopard Print Kiss

Start with your base coat and then two thin coats black. Pick three colors for your leopard kisses, the colors I chose are from the sinful colors line. Feel the vibe (orange), Rise and Shine (greenish-blue), and Dream On (purple). Then apply a thin layer of glitter polish for shiny bits, optional. Lastly, apply your favorite top coat to protect your design. If you try the leopard kiss nails, feel free to tag and share your design!
